When my friend Katie was getting married she asked me to make her a sash for her wedding gown. And of course I couldn't refuse the chance to create something pretty! Below are a few pictures of the sash:
We chose a velvet ribbon for the sash; tulle, silk & satin fabrics with texture to create the flowers; and vintage jewels and broaches for the flower centers and to add a little sparkle. I used different techniques to create each flower for variety leaving the edges raw for a more vintage feel. I also threw in a few delicate white feathers for fun.
Here is a shot of the back of the dress. Oh, what a pretty lady she is!
I also made a matching sash for the flower girl with small pom pom flowers.
And a picture just for fun...Mr. and Mrs. Katie and Tanner Cobb surrounded by friends. I feel blessed to have been able to be a part of their day!
I have always had a thing for weddings and enjoy being a part of making a girls special day even more magical. Katie has inspired me to create more pretty accessories just for the bride. I hope to have an Etsy shop up soon, so keep checking back for that!
